MLTE Climbing Wall Award (CWA) Training

This course is open to CFAV’s from the ACF and CCF. ATC and SCC bids are welcome on a fill up basis.

The MLTE Climbing Wall Award Training (CWA) including Abseil Module is a 3-day training course.

The CWA is ideally suited for climbers who wish to introduce roped climbing, abseiling, and bouldering sessions or teach basic climbing techniques on artificial indoor or outdoor climbing walls/boulders/towers to novices.

Prior to attending a training course candidates must have completed  at least 6 months personal climbing experience including 15 visits to 3 different climbing walls and an ability to lead climb.

Candidates must be a member of the British Mountaineering Council at a personal cost of £29.95 and have registered for the CWA award with MLTE/S/W/NI at a cost of £35; this should be done at least 3/4 weeks prior to the course.

Candidates can not complete this training course without the relevant MLTE  registration and logbook.

The personal contribution for this course is £35; bids will not be excepted until the course fee has been received. Personal contributions will not be refunded for any cancellations received less than 7 days prior to the course commencing.

MLTE Climbing Wall Award (CWA) Assessment

This course is open to CFAV’s from the ACF and CCF. ATC and SCC bids are welcome on a fill up basis.

The MLTE Climbing Wall Award assessment  (CWA) including Abseil Module is a 2-day assessment course.

Prior to attending an assessment course candidates must have successfully completed an MLTE endorsed training course, assisted with at least 15 supervised/instructed sessions at 2 different walls, completed 30 visits to 3 different climbing walls including 1 major commercial wall and a recommended minimum of 3 months development time between training and assessment and hold a current First Aid certificate.

Candidates can not complete this assessment course without the relevant MLTE logbook.

The personal contribution for this course is £35; bids will not be excepted until the course fee has been received. Personal contributions will not be refunded for any cancellations received less than 7 days prior to the course commencing.
