Halton Training Camp
This course is open to CFAV’s and cadets aged 16+ from the ACF and CCF. ATC and SCC CFAV bids are welcome on a fill up basis.
This is a 5-day introduction to inland Kayaking (K2F) in a sheltered water environment. Candidates must be water confident and be able to swim 25mts wearing a Buoyancy Aid.
The course content includes clothing and equipment, access and conservation, river hazards and grading, weather, lifting, carrying and launching, efficient forward paddling, manoeuvring the kayak in confined spaces, sideways movement and self/group rescues.
Upon successful completion of this course candidates will be issued a CCAT K2F brassard badge (cadets only) and course certificate.
Candidates who successfully complete both K2F and O2F will be awarded a BCU 2 star award.
For CFAV’s this is the skills entry level for the BCU UKCC Level 1 Coaching qualification.
The personal contribution for this course is £40; bids must be placed through WESTMINSTER and will not be accepted until the course fee has been received. Personal contributions will not be refunded for any cancellations received less than 7 days prior to the course commencing.
