This course is open to CFAV’s and Cadets aged 16+ from the ACF and CCF. ATC and SCC bids are welcome on a top up basis only.
This is a 5-day intermediate rock climbing course in a multi-pitch environment. Candidates must have successfully completed a BRC award prior to attending this course, proof must be provided with application, and should be reasonably physically fit, free from injury and have a keen interest in adventurous activities.
The content includes clothing and equipment, access and conservation, mountain hazards, weather, care and use of equipment, rope management and knot tying, belaying techniques, climbing techniques, multi pitch climbing, abseiling, setting up belays, gear placement/protection, introduction to leading in the outdoor and indoor environment.
This course may be used towards a gold DofE residential project.
Upon successful completion of this course candidates will be issued a CCAT course certificate and brassard badge (cadets only).
To apply, candidates are to complete a CCAT Course application; this along with the course fee is to be sent to the candidate’s ACF County HQ or CCF Contingent HQ for authorisation and for the bid to be placed on WESTMINSTER. Candidates are to ensure the course application is clearly legible and completed in full. The personal contribution for this course is £40. Course payments will not be refunded for any cancellations received less than 7 days prior to the course commencing.
