Capel Curig Training Camp
This course is open to CFAV’s from the ACF and CCF, CFAV ATC and SCC bids are welcome on a fill up basis. The minimum age is 17.
Applications from ACF/CCF cadets aged 17+ will be considered on an individual basis. Any interested cadet candidates holding the course pre-requisites are to contact HQ CCAT directly.
The MT Climbing Wall Award (CWA) including Abseil Module is a 3-day training course.
The CWA is ideally suited for climbers who wish to introduce roped climbing, abseiling, and bouldering sessions or teach basic climbing techniques on artificial indoor or outdoor climbing walls/ boulders/and towers to novices.
Prior to attending a training course candidates must have completed at least 6 months personal climbing experience including 15 visits to 3 different climbing walls and able to lead climbs.
On successful completion of a training course candidates are required to gain further experience and complete their personal action plan before attending an assessment.
Candidates must be a member of the British Mountaineering Council at a personal cost of £31.45 and have registered for the CWA award with MT at a cost of £42; this should be done at least 3/4 weeks prior to the course. Candidates cannot complete this training course without the relevant MT Logbook.
The personal contribution for this course is £40; bids will not be accepted until the course fee has been received. Personal contributions will not be refunded for any cancellations received less than 7 days prior to the course commencing.
