Halton Training Camp
This course is open to CFAV’s and Cadets aged 16 plus from the ACF and CCF. ATC and SCC CFAV bids are welcome on a top up basis only.
This is a 5 day introduction to mountaineering in a summer environment. The content includes navigation skills, clothing and equipment, access and conservation, mountain hazards, weather, camp craft and an overnight mountain expedition.
Candidates should be reasonably physically fit, free from injury and have a keen interest in adventurous activities. This course may be used towards a gold DofE residential project.
For CFAV’s it can be used as CPD and logbook experience towards a MT Mountain Leader Training Award.
Upon successful completion of this course candidates will be issued a Course certificate and brassard badge (cadets only).
To apply, candidates are to complete a CCAT Course application; this along with the course fee is to be sent to the candidate’s ACF County HQ or CCF Contingent HQ for authorisation and for the bid to be placed on WESTMINSTER. Candidates are to ensure the course application is clearly legible and completed in full. The personal contribution for this course is £40. Course payments will not be refunded for any cancellations received less than 7 days prior to the course commencing.
