MLTE Summer Mountain Leader (MLS) Training
This course is open to CFAV’s from the ACF and CCF. ATC and SCC bids are welcome on a fill up basis.
The MLTE Summer Mountain Leader (MLS) is a 6-day training course.
The ML(S) is ideally suited for mountaineers that wish to lead groups in mountainous and remote country.
Prior to attending a training course candidates must have completed at least 12 months mountain walking experience including 20 logged quality mountain days.
On successful completion of a training course candidates are required to gain further experience and complete their personal action plan before attending an assessment.
Candidates must be a member of the British Mountaineering Council at a personal cost of £29.95 and have registered for the MLS award with MLTE/S/W/NI at a cost of £35; this should be done at least 3/4 weeks prior to the course.
Candidates can not complete this training course without the relevant MLTE Logbook.
The personal contribution for this course is £35; bids must be placed through WESTMINSTER and will not be excepted until the course fee has been received.
Personal contributions will not be refunded for any cancellations received less than 7 days prior to the course commencing.

MLTE Summer Mountain Leader (MLS) Assessment
This course is open to CFAV’s from the ACF and CCF. ATC and SCC bids are welcome on a fill up basis.
The MLTE Summer Mountain Leader (MLS) is a 5-day assessment course.
The ML(S) is ideally suited for mountaineers that wish to lead groups in mountainous and remote country.
Prior to attending an assessment course candidates must have successfully completed an MLTE endorsed training course and completed at least 40 quality mountain days in 3 differing regions of the UK. This should include at least 8 night clamping of which 4 must be wild and remote; experience of group management over technical terrain is also required and candidates must also hold a current First Aid certificate.
Candidates can not complete this assessment course without the relevant MLTE Logbook.
The personal contribution for this course is £35; bids must be placed through WESTMINSTER and will not be excepted until the course fee has been received.
