MBLA Trail Cycle Leader (TCL) Training

This course is open to CFAV’s from the ACF and CCF (Army) section. ATC and SCC bids are welcome on a fill up basis.

The Trail Cycle Leader (TCL) is a 2-day training course.

The TCL is ideally suited for mountain bikers who wish to lead groups on routes with low to medium technical difficulty including public highways, way marked routes, identifiable cycle routes, tracks and trails with obvious navigational features that are 95% rideable not exceeding 600m in height  and 30mins walk from shelter and communication.

Prior to attending a training course candidates must have completed at least 20 mountain bike rides on appropriate terrain and varying weather conditions with a minimum duration of 1.5 hours.  On successful completion of a training course candidates are required to gain further experience and complete their personal action plan before attending an assessment.

Candidates must have registered with Mountain Bike Leader Association (MLBA) for the Trail Cycle Leader Award at a personal cost of £50.00; this should be done at least 3/4 weeks prior to the course.

Candidates can not complete this training course without the relevant TCL Logbook and manual.

The personal contribution for this course is £50; bids must be placed through WESTMINSTER and will not be excepted until the course fee has been received.
Personal contributions will not be refunded for any cancellations received less than 7 days prior to the course commencing.

MBLA Trail Cycle Leader (TCL) Assessment

This course is open to CFAV’s from the ACF and CCF. ATC and SCC bids are welcome on a fill up basis.

The Trail Cycle Leader (TCL) is a 1-day assessment course.

Prior to attending an assessment course candidates are required to have successfully complete a MBLA  TCL endorsed training course, gained further experience and completed their personal action plan.

Candidates must be a member of the British Cycling Federation (RIDE MEMBER) at a personal cost of £24.00 and hold a current First Aid certificate.

Candidates can not complete this assessment course without the relevant MBLA documentation, logbook and memberships.

The personal contribution for this course is £35; bids must be placed through WESTMINSTER and will not be excepted until the course fee has been received.
Personal contributions will not be refunded for any cancellations received less than 7 days prior to the course commencing.
