This course is open to CFAV’s and Cadets aged 16 plus from the ACF and CCF. ATC and SCC CFAV bids are welcome on a top up basis only.
This is a 5 day introduction to caving. The course content includes clothing and equipment, access and conservation, cave hazards, weather, rope management and knots, life line skills, use of cave ladders, navigation, cave geology, formation, hydrology, safety and emergency procedures
Candidates should be reasonably physically fit, free from injury and have a keen interest in adventurous activities.
This course may be used towards a gold DofE residential project.
Upon successful completion of this course candidates will be issued a Course certificate and brassard badge (cadets only).
To apply, candidates are to complete a CCAT Course application; this along with the course fee is to be sent to the candidate’s ACF County HQ or CCF Contingent HQ for authorisation and for the bid to be placed on WESTMINSTER. Candidates are to ensure the course application is clearly legible and completed in full. The personal contribution for this course is £40. Course payments will not be refunded for any cancellations received less than 7 days prior to the course commencing.
