Capel Curig Training Camp
This course is open to CFAV’s and Cadets from the ACF and CCF. CFAV ATC and SCC bids are welcome on a fill up basis.
The primary role of the Paddlesport Leader is to lead, to supervise, or facilitate safe, quality, enjoyable trips based on their group’s needs and aspirations. Safety, quality and enjoyment will primarily be achieved through choice of venue, equipment and leadership strategies that match the group’s specific needs. The award does not include progressive coaching of technical skills but focuses on learning through experience.
Prior to attending a Paddlesport Leader Training course candidates must have registered with your Home Nation Association for the Award using the LR Form available from the BCU or Canoe England website. You must also have full BCU Membership and a valid First Aid Certificate. Candidates must hold a minimum of BCU 2 Star or equivalent K2F/O2F Awards.
Application Instructions. To apply, candidates are to complete a CCAT Course application; this along with the course fee is to be sent to the candidate’s ACF County HQ or CCF Contingent HQ for authorisation and for the bid to be placed on WESTMINSTER. Candidates are to ensure the course application is clearly legible and completed in full. The personal contribution for this course is £40. Course payments will not be refunded for any cancellations received less than 7 days prior to the course commencing.
