British Canoeing (BC) Intermediate Kayak Award(IKA)
This expedition is open to CFAV,s and cadets from the ACF and CCF. The minimum age is 17. Candidates must be water confident and be able to swim 25mts wearing a Buoyancy Aid.
Candidates must have completed the K2F and have some experience paddling in a moving water environment as a pre-requisite to attend this course.
This is a 8-day intermediate Inland kayak expedition to France. This course will follow the BC White Water Inland Kayak syllabus. The River Allier and Ardeche are extremely popular and well known intermediate white water destinations suitable for all levels of ability. They have dam compensation releases so there is water all year round. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to paddle two great French rivers.
Candidates will be travel to and from the France by minibus. Paddling equipment can be provided by CCAT if required. Full expedition insurance and instruction is included. All British Canoeing fees for the White Water Award are included in the personal contribution.
The personal contribution for this course is £300.00. Applicants will be vetted for suitability based on previous experience. Personal contributions will not be refunded for any cancellations received less than 7 days prior to the course commencing.
