This expedition is open to CFAV’s and cadets aged 17+from the ACF and CCF. CFAV ATC and SCC bids are welcome on a fill up basis.
This is a 8-day single and multi-pitch rock climbing expedition incorporating the JS Rock Climbing Foundation (RCF) award. This is an opportunity to climb bolted sea outcrops and mountain routes to gain further logbook experience.
Candidates must have successfully completed Basic Rock Climbing (BRC) as the minimum pre-requisite to attending this expedition.
This course includes clothing and equipment, access and conservation, mountain hazards, weather, care and use of equipment, rope management and knot tying, belaying techniques, climbing techniques, multi pitch climbing, abseiling, belays systems, gear placement/protection, introduction to leading in the outdoor environment.
Included in the expedition cost is flights to and from the UK, accommodation, catering, climbing equipment, insurance and instruction.
To apply, candidates are to complete a CCAT Course application; this along with a 50% course deposit payment is to be sent to the candidate’s ACF County HQ or CCF Contingent HQ for authorisation and for the bid to be placed on WESTMINSTER. Candidates are to ensure the course application is clearly legible and completed in full. The personal contribution for this course is £300. Course payments will not be refunded for any cancellations received less than 7 days prior to the course commencing.
