Restrictions. This is open to CFAV’s and Cadets aged 16years + from the ACF and CCF. Candidates applying for the ISC must have successfully completed SF1 or have the equivalent level of experience and ability which must be identified on the CCAT course application.
Course Content. The Intermediate Ski Course (ISC) is a 5-day continuation training and further development beyond the SF1 award. This course links the fundamentals of control of speed & line, adjustments for snow & terrain, steering; edge, pressure & rotation control, body management; posture, balance, movements & co-ordination, flow; smooth linked movements beyond Central Theme: steeps, bumps and variable conditions. The outcome for the course is for the candidate to demonstrate a competent level of alpine skiing skills as a member of a led group on alpine red graded slopes with mixed terrain variables.
Notes. Candidates should be physically fit, free from injury and have a keen interest in adventurous activities. This course may be used towards a gold DofE residential project. Upon successful completion of this course candidates will be issued a CCAT course certificate and brassard badge (cadets only).
*The course cost includes: transport from and back to the UK, accommodation, meals, technical clothing and equipment and instruction.
*The course will be based at a lodge in Sonthofen, Bavaria.
CCAT Application Process.
A CCAT course application is available on WESTMINSTER and the CCAT website
www.armycadetadventure.co.uk The course fee is £500.00.
An electronic course application needs to be placed onto WESTMINSTER by your ACF/CCF unit.
The CCAT course application form needs to be completed in full, legible signed and authorised by your unit ACF/CCF. The course application needs to be sent to HQ CCAT, Capel Curig, by post or email with the course fee (50% deposit cheque made payable to CCAT or BACs). Ensure the name of the student and course is written on the back of the cheque or included in the BACs payment reference.
