Capel Curig Training Camp
This course is open to CFAV’s from the ACF and CCF.
Course Content. This is a unique Army Cadets CFAV CPD weekend event designed to explore a deeper understanding of the why we teach and subsequently how our Cadets learn skills through the delivery of our various Adventurous Training activities which promotes the gradual step change from dependence to independence.
The weekend will be a mixture of theory and practical sessions (indoor climbing or paddlesport any craft – please state your preference on the application form).
The Cadet AT experience is delivered at a unit level by the ACF and CCF Adult Volunteers who are required to have an appropriate level of skill, competency, knowledge, planning ability and understanding to deliver safely managed AT activities . We have a blended approach, three elements below, to the delivery of the Cadet AT experience that incorporates skills based learning which is applied in an expedition or journeying experience, the right skill at the right time in the right place, followed by a structured review to explore and confirm the participants understanding of the learning outcomes.
Performance Development (technical skills), Experience Development (expedition or journeying) and Personal Development (transferable lifelong learning) .
